The Case for Christmas

How do we know that the story of Christmas is true? And what do we mean by that? Today all across the world, billions of people are taking time out to acknowledge that something very important happened over two millennia ago. We say it didn't stop way back then - it's still happening. Today Norm asks some penetrating and important questions as we face this most holy and amazing birthday celebration of the year.

Knowing the Will of God

Christians all say they want to 'know the will of God.' But are we just paying lip-service? What if God's will is something we don't want? Well, then, something's gotta give.  We can either set ourselves up for misunderstanding and disappointment, or for unexpected grace and amazement. Hint, it's not just about figuring out what God intends.

Church Growth, New Testament Style

Do you ever wonder what happened to the excitement experienced by the early Church? The passion; the miracles; the mighty works of God? Can we assume it was simply God's way of doing things in a different time and in a different way?

Well, if you're Christian on the front lines of faith in places like modern China, Central Asia, Africa or South America, you'd think the question rather odd. For them, they are the early Church and God is manifesting Himself daily. If you don't believe it, you need to tune in for the next two programs.

Cher joins Norm in studio for this insider's look at how the Church is really growing all around the world.

What does it take to reach a nation for Christ? Well, in China it often comes down to a copy of God's Word, faithful believers committed to prayer and a train ticket to the next town. In other words, faith. Today Norm and Cher discuss some important insights into God's economy, how He's multiplying the faith of believers around the world in almost unimaginable ways, and how we can stay up on the latest developments. Smuggling Bibles: A Matter of Obedience

More than half a century ago, a young, idealistic Dutchman set out on an unlikely missionary endeavor, driving his little Volkswagen Beetle full of bibles into the Soviet bloc. He broke the laws of a number of nations as a result. It was the right thing to do, and kicked off a modern mission movement. We know him today as 'Brother Andrew.' His work continues today and is the template for the work we continue through Compassion Radio. Today, Norm shares from the heart about what it means to be 'obedient' to God even when the civil authorities may disagree.

The Two Sides of Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Seems appropriate to be cheerful and grateful on a day like this. The believers in Baghdad, Iraq have learned that 'gratefulness' and 'cheerfulness' don't always go hand-in-hand. They've had a tough row to hoe for some time now. But there's no mistaking their passion, faith, and even joy in extraordinary difficulties. Paul says "I've learned to be content in all circumstances - in plenty and in want..." So there are really two sides to Thanksgiving. Cher joins Norm in studio for this truthful, faith-building and even sobering look at how those far from our comfort and ease give thanks today. As a result, perhaps you'll give special thanks for them on this special day.

In this enlightening conversation with Tracy McKenzie, Norm goes deeper into the history and meaning of Thanksgiving...
