Knowing the Will of God

Christians all say they want to 'know the will of God.' But are we just paying lip-service? What if God's will is something we don't want? Well, then, something's gotta give.  We can either set ourselves up for misunderstanding and disappointment, or for unexpected grace and amazement. Hint, it's not just about figuring out what God intends.

Smuggling Bibles: A Matter of Obedience

More than half a century ago, a young, idealistic Dutchman set out on an unlikely missionary endeavor, driving his little Volkswagen Beetle full of bibles into the Soviet bloc. He broke the laws of a number of nations as a result. It was the right thing to do, and kicked off a modern mission movement. We know him today as 'Brother Andrew.' His work continues today and is the template for the work we continue through Compassion Radio. Today, Norm shares from the heart about what it means to be 'obedient' to God even when the civil authorities may disagree.

Going Is Better!

"Play it safe." "Don't take chances." "Be Careful." "Only do what you know will succeed." All things a cautious parent might say to protect their children.

Fortunately, our God is not a cautious parent. He intends to raise intrepid risk-takers. How else is he going to grow His family in every nook and cranny of the earth He created?
Jim joins Norm in studio for today's discussion on the hows and whys of Compassion Radio.

The Two Sides of Thanksgiving

Hope you're having a blessed Thanksgiving Holiday! While we enjoy the fellowship of loved-ones and lightheartedly venture out into 'Black Friday' for shopping adventures, it's more of a genuine struggle for our Christian family around the world.

The believers in Baghdad, Iraq, for example, have learned that 'gratefulness' and 'cheerfulness' don't always go hand-in-hand. They've had a tough row to hoe for some time now. But there's no mistaking their passion, faith, and even joy in extraordinary difficulties. Paul says "I've learned to be content in all circumstances - in plenty and in want..." So there are really two sides to Thanksgiving. Cher joins Norm in studio for this truthful, faith-building and even sobering look at how those far from our comfort and ease give thanks today. As a result, perhaps you'll give special thanks for them on this special holiday.

Great is Thy Faithfulness

In this special, Thanksgiving edition of Compassion Radio we focus on how great is God's faithfulness to us. The only adequate response is a profound sense of gratitude and a worshipful heart. May your Thanksgiving be full of worship of the One "from whom all blessings flow"...
