How to Change a Nation

How do you change the world? One nation at a time.  Of course, that means change at every level, all the way down to the individual. Yet  the power of an individual can be exponentially increased when that single person is yielded and available to a Mighty God.  Norm's wife Cher joins him for this fascinating discussion.

Following Jesus through the Eye of the Needle

"Harder is it for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God..." Norm guest today, Kent Annan, decided to follow the call of Christ right through the 'eye of the needle' - living a humble and challenging life serving the destitute of Haiti. Never did simple things become so desirable than when he couldn't get them anymore. From air conditioning to cheeseburgers, pleasure after pleasure was stripped from his life. Funny thing, though. On the way he discovered wealth like he'd never known. Kent tells us his story, today.

Church Growth, New Testament Style

Do you ever wonder what happened to the excitement experienced by the early Church? The passion; the miracles; the mighty works of God? Can we assume it was simply God's way of doing things in a different time and in a different way?

Well, if you're Christian on the front lines of faith in places like modern China, Central Asia, Africa or South America, you'd think the question rather odd. For them, they are the early Church and God is manifesting Himself daily. If you don't believe it, you need to tune in for the next two programs.

Cher joins Norm in studio for this insider's look at how the Church is really growing all around the world.

China’s Persecuted Christians

He stood up to Chinese totalitarianism in Tiananmen Square. He organized the ongoing student truth movement. He pursued political freedom and openness with a fervor few had. And then something truly exciting happened in his life. Bob Fu met Jesus Christ. He's never been the same, and neither have the thousands and thousands who met Jesus because of him. Persecuted for his commitment, he reached the West by the skin of his teeth and continues his calling to help the Christians of his homeland. He tells Norm all about it today.

Childrens Bibles for China, Pt. 2

Yesterday we introduced you to Johnny Li and an amazing project to reach China's children with the light of the Gospel. Would you be amazed if we told you that ten thousand people will come to Christ as a result? What if we told you the number was more like a hundred thousand? A million? What number would astound you? The actual number of children and families that have been introduced to the saving love of Jesus Christ through our China Bible projects, is already around 2.5 million. And we're just getting started.

The two most important numbers to us are "1" and "5." Just one bible is shared so often and read so eagerly in China, that five people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It may be even greater for this new Chinese Childrens Bible edition we're highlighting this month.

We have a sneaking suspicion that he's building wealth of a whole different magnitude. And we have the chance to get in on this unique opportunity!

What does it take to reach a nation for Christ? Well, in China it often comes down to a copy of God's Word, faithful believers committed to prayer and a train ticket to the next town. In other words, faith. Today Norm and Cher discuss some important insights into God's economy, how He's multiplying the faith of believers around the world in almost unimaginable ways, and how we can stay up on the latest developments. The good news is that it's not too late to get in on the action!

Norm's guest knows a thing or two about reaching people for Christ in the world's hotspots. He's about as intrepid as they come and can hold his own in any discussion on the Great Commission. We're glad to welcome back our old friend, Dr. Viggo Olsen.

Our lives are short. There's just no time for wasting it on things that don't matter. Does that mean everything has to be serious and somber? Or is there something different at the core of the Gospel? Like JOY, perhaps.

Norm finishes his fascinating discussion on what real faith and a real Gospel looks like with his guest Richard Stearns of World Vision, International.
